
What to Expect From Plymouth Community Ambulance Association during COVID-19
Right now, the world is full of questions and concerns. Healthcare providers and emergency services are on the front lines with handling the suspected positive COVID-19 patients. EMS understands that everyone has emergencies and patients need care. If you call 911 you can be assured that there will be no delay in responding to your emergency and all patients will receive the same high level of care. Because COVID – 19 has the potential of being very aggressive and contagious, Plymouth Ambulance wants our community to know what you can expect when calling 911 for assistance:
- If you call 911 and can walk to the door, please do so and wait for PCAA crew arrival.
- Please do not approach PCAA crews. Allow at least 6 -10 feet between you and the providers.
- This will give providers ample time to best protect themselves and you from the potential of symptoms spreading.
- PCAA Paramedics and EMTs will provide you with a face mask if you are experiencing any of the symptoms listed below.

- When ready; the crew will approach you and begin care.
- You can expect to be asked a series of questions concerning travel and symptoms that you may be experiencing.
- Temperatures and vital signs will be assessed with all patients, and further treatment will be provided
- If there is a life-threatening emergency, care will not be hindered because the patient may not be ambulatory. Crews will enter the premise as quickly as possible during this time.
- You can expect to be asked a series of questions concerning travel and symptoms that you may be experiencing.
- Please keep in mind that during this time only patients will be transported to the hospital in the ambulances.
- Family and friends are unable to be transported with the patient; unless special circumstances arise; ex: the patient is a minor.
